Neighbors helping Neighbors…Our pledge to help our communityYou may have heard our slogan before. Either in person at our registers, on the radio or television, or when you generously donated items to us. But just how does St. Vincent de Paul go about helping others? Fighting to help those through difficult and troubling times in their lives is truly no easy task, and takes the hard work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers each with their own area in which they specialize. There are in truth, many different shapes that the help we provide comes in. The Waukesha council has over 12 different programs, each designed with it’s own distinct function all designed to help those in need.
Home Visits-Conference Core Ministry
St. Vincent de Paul District Council of Waukesha County partners with the Hope Center with financial support and staffing to serve a nutritious hot meal each Monday evening to the homeless, indigent, and needy in the City of Waukesha.
Summer Lunch Program
Partnering with the City of Waukesha Parks system, the Summer Lunch Program provides a bag lunch and beverage to school age children and their parents Monday – Friday during the entire school summer break. Our goal is to help parents meet the needs of their children by providing a nutritious meal and a structure to long summer days.
The St. Vincent de Paul Back-to-School Program is a joint venture between Waukesha, Washington, and Milwaukee St. Vincent de Paul Councils. The Program provides school supplies to families who may otherwise have difficulty, or be unable to provide them for their children. We believe every child deserves the chance to be the best they can be, and it is this programs job is to arm them with the tools to bring out their true potential!
